More Details Emerge About Joss Whedon's 'Much Ado About Nothing'

The Internet did a collective backflip over the news that Joss Whedon had apparently filmed an adaptation of Shakespeare's 'Much Ado About Nothing' in secret with some of his usual repertory players (Nathan Fillion, Alexis Denisof and Clark Gregg). Well, it's true, and a new press release offers up some more details from the film. Whedon's 'Much Ado About Nothing' filmed in 12 days "entirely on location in exotic Santa Monica" says a press release from Bellwether Films (via the NY Times), a company founded by Whedon and his wife, Kai Cole. As for the film itself, Denisof and Amy Acker will play Benedick and Beatrice; Fillion and Gregg are Dogberry and Leonato; and Fran Kranz and Jillian Morgese will play Claudio and Hero. No word yet on a release date, but expect it sometime in 2012. 'Much Ado About Nothing' "should be completed by early spring and headed for the festival circuit, because it is fancy," said the release.
